Dr. Wilson continues to expound upon the observations and conclusions reached in his seminal work, Black-On-Black Violence. While the latter work describes at length the causative factors which foster such debilitating violence, Understanding Black Adolescent Male Violence provides the reader with strategies to help combat the problem.

Wonderful Book Will Have a Instant Effect On your and Your Family!

As I fly around from country to country I am sitting in airports reading these jewels left by the master teacher A. Wilson. Love this book and its immediate effect on my mind and my outlook. I ensure I share his words with my brothers and will have them purchases these for their collection as well.

Broad and deep at the same time

Dr Wilson's book had a profound effect on me and i read it almost non-stop for about 2 days at first, and finished it in 5. It captures many potential reasons for various behaviours - mostly related directly to an African origin male suffering racism, the rest indirectly related to it .
It helped me to recognise that i had been influenced by racism much more than i had thought and helped me to recognise that problem in others.
As an aspiring educator, this book had given me a good insight into the deep emotional and psychological effects racism has on young teen and adolescents of African origin in particular. An excellent read for anyone studying racism in western society and in western education
