This story (series) is awesome in all the erotic descriptive detail in their relationship!!!! The author is also very imaginative, the plot is wonderful too. Even after coming to terms with Ileana's lies and deceptions which ripped apart the relationship Kate and Matt shared Kate can't help but feel sick that the other woman's maneuvering actually worked. Now in addition to knowing about the betrayal, Kate's learned that Matt had actually proposed to Ileana after Kate disappeared from his life. What's worse, Ileana has pictures of them together shopping for a ring.

Matt admitted to a short romantic relationship with Ileana but claimed it was never anything serious - and he broke it off several months ago. If it wasn't serious than why did he propose to Ileana and while Ileana isn't above rubbing Kate's nose in the whole sordid affair and says she doesn't want Matt back, she does want the ring she returned to him.

Meanwhile Matt is completely oblivious to the doubts Ileana has put into Kate's heads and he's thoroughly enjoying the time he spends with Kate teaching her all about being a good submissive. She's everything he's ever wanted in a lover, sub and friend. Matt refuses to consider their relationship on a permanent basis and there's the evidence of a wedding proposal, to another woman, staring her in the face, what is she going to do now? Kate has to admit that the only thing that scares her more than her own submissive nature is a future without Matt.

Anger, lust, love, betrayal and scorching sex blend together in a story that keeps the reader eagerly turning pages just waiting for the proverbal explosion. While Matt and Kate are infinitely loveable characters and make you want to believe a happy future is a possibility, Ileana is the perfect villain. You can just envision her in spiky heels with a snide smirk on her perfectly made up face. I dislike her intensely (obviously, right?) but then again that's the whole point. If it wasn't for people like Ileana we might not be able to see the value in genuinely good people like Kate and Matt. THE SUBMISSION is the fifth story in Opal Carew's HIS TO COMMAND serial novel. If you haven't done so already I'd suggest picking up copies of the other titles as well and reading them as well.

The company also guarantee's that "your" book will automatically become a best-seller. I don't understand how that can possibly be guaranteed. Even the most successful authors don't know if their yet to be released book will become a best seller. There are clearly some extremely shady things about Celebrity Press. The company's goal does not seem to be to help educate business-men and women, but instead is used as a marketing tool to try and make people appear as celebrities and experts on something they may not actually be experts on. You are far better off reading a book that is made by a more honest publisher.

Buyer Beware!

A friend of mine was involved in part of this turmoil. Pretty scary when you can use a pristine name like Steve Forbes and tie it to unscrupulous people, making them look like celebrities. If you Google the authors or Successonomics and press images, you'll see many different authors on the cover of this book all claiming to be coauthors with Steve Forbes. I'm sure some of them are honest, hard working people, others however are con artists. The problem is that nobody is vetting the authors! You can pay a fee and become a Celebrity Author! ABC / CBS / NBC & FOX TV Logos, appearing on Brain Tracy's TV Show, speaking as a visiting scholar at universities or being nominated as America's Premier Expert (all part of the purchase price!) is a misleading lie!! Each author pays a substantial fee to be associated with this book!! Tread lightly here or you too may be swindled!!!!!

Lost all respect.....

sham......these authors pay ALOT of money for this and Celebrity Press does not even research them. I am sure most are honest but I know for a fact some are total fakes. Very dangerous when talking about finances. I have lost all respect for Forbes since he did not do due diligence on the applicants. I guess the money was more important to him. Bad job Forbes....

About the Author
Peter Conradi is a British author and journalist. He is currently foreign editor of the Sunday Times. He has previously been a foreign correspondent in Belgium, Switzerland, and the Soviet Union. Chilling yet gripping.

Let's address the elephant in the room. The cover photo alone is terrifying, so you can imagine how the reading experience was.
This is a different kind of serial killer book because its main focus is to explain and analyze the mental development of a psychopathic killer. It is of course complemented with a thorough account on Chikatilo's life and how he terrorized the south of Russia, leaving a trail of over 52 victims. He started with violation of passive victims he knew wouldn't resist. That led to killing and then evolved into torture previous to the murders.
A great work has been achieved in framing the time and place of the murders by cultural and historical detailed descriptions.
A chronology and an image gallery are also included at the end as a means for summarizing and illustrating all the events.
What made this stand out from the other book similar to this one that I've read is the fact that it reads more like thriller based on true events.

uneven crime study - masterpiece in some areas, lacking in others

Conradi's book is not too bad. My biggest problem with it is that it is subtitled "Russia's monster serial killer and the men who stopped him." This is somewhat misleading, as there is very little about the policemen and the detectives who stopped him.

On the positive end though, one will find few books anywhere that spend so much time discussing the mindset of a killer in such detail. Conradi does a masterful job recreating the horrific crimes. And even though the psychiatric interview at the end is extremely tedious in the first couple of pages, the summary is well worth the time.

Into the mind of the killer

What makes Chikatilo fascinating is that it took so long for him to be caught, and the reasons for this delay. He was incredibly lucky, in some ways, but the structure of laws, customs and means of communication in the Russia of the time are the real reasons for his long career as a killer. Conradi explains all of this clearly. What is not so clear are the details of how all of the info he presents was acquired. Did the author have access to confession documents, or interrogation documents? If so, the readers would sure like to see them included in the book. Overall, a very readable, informative book.
