A concise and easy to read epilepsy textbook

The book was a product of many experienced and internationally-recognised pediatric epileptologists (physician specialised in epilepsy treatment), fully editted by Dr Michael Duchowny, one of the world-renowned and pioneers of epilepsy surgery in children. The book covers almost all aspects of epilepsy in children from definition, types, epileptic syndromes by age, investigation and variety of treatment. The stand out quality of this book is that every chapter is very concise that you can finish it within half an hour per chapter (and this is from my own experience and I consider myself quite a slow reader when it comes to English language). Moreover, the authors also give you some "tips" from their own experience regarding the topic as well as the information from studies and research. It also contains lots of very useful diagrams for a quick review.
In summary, as an American-trained pediatric neurologist and epileptologist myself, I strongly recommend this book for everybody who is interested and/or involves in the care of children with epilepsy.

Mark Evans Bonds Anthology of Scores good choice

The Mark Evans Bonds' selection of musical scores in "Anthology of Scores," Books 1 and 2 are the accompaniment anthology for "A History of Music in Western Culture," Books 1 and 2. The entire series is a good choice for college/university instructors teaching the history of tonal music in a two-semester set of Music History courses. A companion set of CD's is also available; however, if expensive textbooks are a concern, most of the music in the text and anthology is easily found on YouTube. I would recommend the entire series: text, anthology and CD set.

Wow... I'm always amazed at how conservative Amazon is with their product descriptions. I ordered this book with my fingers crossed, but it arrived in truly pristine condition, and at a price $35 cheaper than my school bookstore. As for the book itself, it contains detailed scores, albeit with small print, with fairly brief but insightful comments following each piece. The accompanying CD set is extremely expensive, though, so I recommend just finding your own recordings or on YouTube to listen to.

In Cultures and Ecologies, Edwin C. Koenig applies ethnohistorical and ethnographic approaches to the conflict, exploring both historical and recent fisheries activity in the region. In an effort to clarify particularly contentious issues, he provides insights into how the conflict was entangled with cultural perspectives on the definition of 'conservation' and how each side had various interpretations of the conservation mandate.

Based on substantial ethnographic fieldwork and featuring rich interviews with First Nations members, Cultures and Ecologies links perspectives on fishing conflict issues to local community revitalization efforts, where there is also a strong interest in articulating traditions and traditional knowledge. It encourages an open dialogue on this and other aboriginal resource conflicts.
